Danbury is a city located in the Fairfield County of the southwest portion of Connecticut. In the late 18th century, Danbury became known as Hat City because the city was known for the manufacturing of many hats in its time period.
Located near Danbury are various cities such as Bethel, New Milford, Brookfield, and Newtown, CT. The town includes train transportation to New York City as well as bus transportation around the area. A few of Danbury's most notable attractions include Western Connecticut State University, The Danbury Fair Mall, Ives Concert Park, and Tarrywile Park and Mansion. Danbury is also home to the biggest man-made lake in Connecticut, Candlewood Lake.
